With over 774 million users worldwide, LinkedIn is a well-established social media platform most commonly known for B2B marketing and building your own personal brand and digital resume.
Drastically different from the landscapes of TikTok and Instagram, LinkedIn can be daunting to begin with. But, it’s not as scary as you think and it’s a great platform to use to keep up to date with your industry and connect with other industry professionals!
Here’s some of our top tips to get started on LinkedIn…
1. Cut the buzzwords! There’s a misconception that you have to talk a certain way on LinkedIn. But, as with most social media, people relate to realness. Be yourself, share your opinions and achievements, but don’t be afraid to ask for help or start difficult conversations. You never know who might provide some pearls of wisdom!
2. If you’re using LinkedIn for your business your community hashtags are key. Community hashtags are your gateway to other brands and businesses that you wish to engage with. Make sure they’re relevant to your field but broad enough to get you noticed with your target audience!
3. Stay current and connected. LinkedIn is the best place to stay up to date with your industry and learn from other brands and professionals. Absorb as much as you can by following leaders, CEO’s, and directors. Engage in current debates and trends, and start meaningful conversations.
